DEAU Cognac: a family affair. The story began in 1685 during the reign of King Louis XIV, when Louis Deau became a winegrower in Charente and discovered the mythical alchemy of distillation.
DEAU Cognac, a unique collection. New inspiration in the very select universe of exceptional cognacs. Presented in a decanter with a resolutely modern design that encapsulates the best tasting methods. Our cognacs represent excellence, expertise, and creativity.
THE GRIFFON is the symbolic guardian of nature's treasures. Half-eagle, half-lion, this fantastic creature was first mentioned more than 5000 years ago. Today, the griffon is the noble protector of the family's vineyard and the golden elixir in our cellars.
The estate is located in the Fins Bois sub-region. This region of AOC cognac is known for the fine quality of its eau-de-vie. The dominant grape variety, Ugni blanc, creates a vibrant and fresh wine that is perfect for producing cognac. The home of DEAU Cognac, Les Moisans is a lovely hamlet crossed by a narrow winding lane. The estate includes the aging cellars, the twelve-still distillery, the offices, and the beautifully restored Manor House for welcoming visitors and cognac aficionados.

an aesthete's cognac
Harmony - richness - generosity are its main qualities.
DEAU XO is a blend of eaux-de-vie mostly from the Petite Champagne and Fins Bois sub-regions, aged in Limousin oak barrels in our cellars.
This amber-colored, almost mahogany cognac boasts aromas of jasmine, violet, candied fruit, prune, and cinnamon, with a refined and elegant nose. Oaky and floral notes on the palate blend into a full-bodied, well-balanced finish.
Aromatic and delicate, intense, and seductive, DEAU Black Extra is a cognac full of character and passion.
Its name, Black, is a reference to the color of the blind tasting glasses used by the cellar masters. Black is a blend of eaux-de-vie mostly from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne sub-regions.
A floral nose of iris, violet, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. Round on the palate with buttery notes and hints of apricot. Delicious neat, over crushed ice, or mixed with juice, tonic or soda.
hors d'âge cognac
A king’s cognac, Louis Memory is a tribute to Louis Deau, born in 1665 in the Cognac region.
Louis Memory is our crown jewel. This blend of exclusively long-aged eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne sub-region is the masterpiece of our family blends.
DEAU Louis Memory is impressively aromatic yet subtle, with notes of dried fruit, honey, vanilla, cinnamon, and cigar box. Rich and generous on the palate with an exceptionally long finish.
La Vie en Or
The taste of elegance and refinement. The gold standard.
L.V.O La Vie en Or represents the ultimate alliance between the resolutely modern DEAU decanter overlaid with pure 24-carat gold and the sumptuous cognac it preserves. L.V.O. La Vie en Or is gilded with the purest of gold leaf, hand laid by Arthus Bertrand, one of Paris finest jewelers, in keeping with the age-old tradition of award-winning guildsmen.
The treasure of our company, L.V.O. is a blend of very old Grande Champagne cognacs aged in the cool stillness of our underground cellar embedded in limestone. Latently sensual with a deep amber hue, L.V.O. La Vie en Or reveals a tantalizing array of subtle flavors, with luscious aromas of ripe fruit and lingering spicy notes.
